When our kids show up on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings, we believe that the Bible should NEVER be boring, that worship can be really loud, and that the best leaders ALWAYS care. In other words, we want to make sure that our kids experience the acceptance and joy of knowing their Heavenly Father.
We want our kids to know:
1. I need to make a wise choice.
2. I can trust God no matter what.
3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Everything that we teach flows from these Three Basic Truths.
The purpose is to connect our kindergarteners through 5th graders into a small group where they will begin to unpack what it means to have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We want our kids to see how God’s word applies to their lives and how his truth really tells them how to live. Every week we connect our kids with the same small group leaders, giving them another trusted relationship that will help connect them to a relationship with their Heavenly Father.
This is a great website with a lot of great resources that connect to what we are learning during Sunday school!
What are 252 Basics?
Elementary-age kids are in a constant state of discovery. Think about all the different things they are trying for the first time and what they’re learning every day, even how to make (and keep) friends.
How can we tap into the way kids are naturally wired to discover‚ so they can begin to experience for themselves who God is, how He sees them and how much He loves them?
How can we show them God’s big story and help them discover the active part they can play in this life-long adventure, to be more like Him?
“God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.”
John 3:16, NIV
When you plan your visit, we'll save you a seat and do everything in our power to make your experience at Highland Park Community Church great.
