OUR MISSION & VISION

TAKING RISKS TO PURSUE GOD AND LOVE LIKE JESUS

We believe that pursuing God with your whole heart can sometimes feel risky but is always worth it. Jesus was a risk-taker. He risked humiliation, ridicule, and most of all His life, to reach the lost and to show them the love of God. We want to be a church that is willing to take these same risks to reach our community for Christ!

OUR BEGINNINGS

In 1952 God led a handful of believers and a bi-vocational pastor to begin a house church. Two years later, construction began on a building at 955 South Washington, and we became the First Church of God. By faith and with the labor of willing volunteers, the church was completed, and God filled the building with people.

THE DREAM CONTINUED

In 1975, the dream continued and faith expanded when the small church stepped out again to relocate to 12th and Missouri. Three years later, upon completion of the building, we took the name of the community we hoped to serve and became known as Highland Park Community Church.

As the congregation continued to thrive, the building was expanded several times until space limitations necessitated another relocation. This time, the church moved to the vacant LaBelle’s building on 2nd Street. God honored our faithfulness and continued to bring significant growth which allowed us to leave an impact on others not only in Casper but literally around the world.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

Over the course of two decades that building was completely remodeled, and filled to accommodate a variety of programs such as:

  • Four-weekend worship services
  • Vibrant children and youth ministries,
  •  A life-changing counseling center called The Healing Place,
  • Over 100 community groups for youth and adults
  • A  Faith Promise Missions outreach that spanned the globe.

BUT THE STORY DIDN’T STOP THERE…

God brought us into a new housethe place we worship today. It is the house that HE built. However, with this gift comes great responsibility. What now? How can we utilize this new “hub” to serve God and others?

The rest of our story starts today, and it begins with YOU.
